What is Chartered Engineer Certificate ?
A chartered engineer certificate from an independent
Inspection company is a mandatory requirement in order to export used or
refurbished machinery to India. This is the requirement of Indian customs.
The Inspection Company must be authorised by Indian Directorate General of
Foreign Trade (DGFT) to provide Chartered Engineer Certificates. The
Chartered Engineers certifying the machinery must be registered with the
professional engineering body in the country they are working in. The
Engineers in UK must be registered with Engineering Council, UK to be
called Chartered Engineers.
